Beginner Moves

Curl Moves

Curl  ━ On go, hold your arrow key in the gait (speed) you are currently in to complete a full circle.

 

Fate  ━ Curl in the direction called, then curl in the opposite direction.

 

Destiny  ━ Curl twice in the direction said, holding down the turn key, then curl in the opposite direction.

 

Back Curl ━ From a halt, curl with the horse backing up, then halt again.

 

Strike  ━ Canter curl in the direction called, then rear (X) when your front hooves reach your original axis. 

 

Keyhole  ━ ¾ of a curl that results in a comb. 


Coil  ━ Keyhole, then halt as soon as you are straight.

Transition Curls

I Curl  ━ Walk curl then a trot curl.


Bee Curl  ━ Trot curl into canter curl. Transition one-step before you complete  your trot curl into the canter curl.

Curl Types

Delayed Curl  ━ A transition curl called with spaced apart go’s. Riders should maintain their gait after transitioning until the next go is called.

Combs

 

Comb  ━ All riders cut across the arena on go. You will appear one horse ahead of everyone else on your screen (comb alignment).

 

Curl Comb  ━ A curl immediately into a comb.

 

Couple  ━ Odds comb on go, evens follow behind odds. This results in partner groups, or “couples”. 

 

Ladder ━ Curl comb the direction said on the first go, then curl comb the opposite direction on the second go to remerge the line.

 

Switch  ━ In a waterfall, on the first go everyone will comb in and through the gaps, on the second go everyone will cut back towards their leads.

Combo Moves

Dodge  ━ Curl over in the direction called, then curl over in the opposite direction. 

 

Buckle ━ Curl over on the first go, then curl over the same direction again on the second go.

 

Key Curl  ━ Curl in direction called, then keyhole in the same direction, resulting in a comb going the opposite direction. 

 

Bristle ━ Comb on the first go, then curl over away from the lead on the second go. Cut towards the lead at the wall.


Retreat Curl  ━ Curl then curl over in the same direction.

Odds & Evens

 

Wave  ━ Odds will curl in the direction called, evens will curl in the opposite direction. The term “wave” can be added to any move to indicate odds and evens to the move in opposite directions. 

 

Twist  ━ Odds will fate the direction called, and evens will fate the opposite direction.

 

Thread  ━ Odds will curl on the first go, and on the second go the evens will curl.  

 

Feather  ━ While on a mid, odds will comb the direction called and evens will comb the opposite direction.

Slants

 

Slant  ━ On go, all riders slant in the direction said, aligning with the slanted lines on the ground. You will appear side by side with the rider in front (slant alignment).

 

Back Slant  ━ A 135° turn onto the diagonal lines behind you.

 

Bear  ━ Curl over but you return to the original axis using the slant lines.

 

Curl Slant  ━ A curl immediately into a slant without releasing your turn key.

 

Case  ━ Canter curl, but you halt on the slant angle before you complete the curl.  

 

Bear Belt ━ Lead will bear on go or at the wall, all others follow the leader.

Misc

 

Wolf ━ From a halt, rear and quarter pivot at the same time.
